- Start your self guided electric bike tour by heading toward the Hood River Event Site and watch the kiteboarders and windsurfers jump and race across the water.
- Make a stop at Stoked Roasters for a coffee to get your day going.
- Head down to the Hook and take in a spectacular view down into the National Scenic Area.
- Now it’s time to put the Electric Bike in gear and head up through downtown Hood River.
- Next stop is the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail: Twin Tunnels Trailhead where you begin your scenic 5-mile journey to the town of Mosier. This is the crown jewel for E-bikes in Hood River.
- In Mosier you will find Randonnee Coffee Co, Mosier Market, MoCo Restaurant, and more. Our top pick is to get a couple tacos from Tacos Chapalita.

Basalt Rocks! – E-Bike Tour:
Explore the formation of the Columbia River Gorge on a scenic eBike ride along the car-free Historic Highway 30 trail. Led by geologist Clara Pfundt (B.S., Geology – WWU), this 3-hour guided tour includes multiple stops to observe fascinating geologic features, learn about the powerful forces that shaped the Gorge, and take in sweeping views of the Columbia River.
We’ll pause in the charming town of Mosier for a coffee or light bite before heading back to our trailhead.
Cost: $125 per person
Dates: Fridays & Sundays

-3-hour guided eBike tour follows the car-free Historic Highway 30 trail through the stunning Columbia River Gorge.
-Led by geologist Clara Pfundt (B.S., Geology – WWU)
-The tour includes several scenic stops to explore basalt cliffs, lava flow formations, and evidence of massive Ice Age floods.
-You’ll learn about the geologic history of the Gorge, including the Columbia River Basalt Group, plate tectonics, uplift, and glacial erosion.
-We’ll visit sites with columnar basalt, folding bedrock, and even a giant glacial erratic.
-Midway through the ride, we’ll pause in the town of Mosier for coffee or a snack.
-By the end, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the Gorge’s formation — and the tools to spot geologic features throughout your visit.
