Additionally, our ebike rentals come with optional guided routes for an immersive exploration of the scenic Hood River area. Guided Ebike tours are by special request only for an additional fee. 

While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend making reservations online, especially for kayak rentals, kayak tours, and ebike adventures, to secure your preferred time slot and ensure availability during peak periods.

We welcome paddlers and bikers of various ages and sizes. Please check our website or contact us for detailed information on any age and weight restrictions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

For kayaking, wear comfortable clothing suitable for water activities, and for ebiking, dress appropriately for the weather. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and a water bottle. Water shoes or secure sandals are recommended for kayaking.

Convenient parking facilities are available for our visitors. We have 10 spaces available in our lower lot. Outside of our lot there is plenty of pay for parking along the roadway above our business.

Todd Anderson

Owner & Guide

Todd is a true Hood River local who founded Pedal & Paddle over 20 years ago after graduating from the University of Oregon. A former professional whitewater kayaker with podium finishes at international events, he now shares his love for the Columbia Gorge through guided tours. Todd is also a volunteer firefighter, an avid stand-up paddle foil rider known for 40-mile downwind runs, and a proud dad to his 3-year-old daughter, Ellery, who often joins him on adventures. Join him on his favorite outings—the Sunset Kayak Tour or the Columbia Gorge Scenic E-Bike Tour—for a memorable experience in the Gorge.

Meet Connor and Bodi, our trusted rental site managers and longtime Hood River Valley locals. With four seasons under their belts, they bring energy, expertise, and a genuine love for sharing the Gorge with others. Connor, one of the top-ranked wrestlers to come out of the valley in years, is headed to Boise State, while Bodi is currently studying at Western Washington. Whether it’s launching kayaks, giving biking tips, or chatting about the best local spots, these two are all about helping you have a great time outdoors. When they’re not working, you’ll find them fishing, exploring, and soaking up everything the Gorge has to offer.

Blac Mcewen

Lead Kayak Guide

Blac is our lead guide and a true outdoorsman with a deep passion for the Pacific Northwest. A former lead lift operator at Mt. Hood Meadows’ main lift and an Eagle Scout, Blac thrives in wild places. He recently completed an epic kayaking journey from the Willamette headwaters to Portland, paddling hundreds of miles. When he’s not on the water, he’s diving into geology, native history, birding, Lewis and Clark lore, and custom mapmaking. Also a talented musician, Blac brings a rich mix of storytelling and local knowledge to every kayak tour he leads in the Columbia River Gorge.

Greg Rutz

Lead E-bike Guide

Greg Rutz is our awesome, high-energy e-bike guide with a deep passion for adventure and storytelling. Originally from Delaware, he’s spent the past two seasons as a lead snowboard instructor at Mt. Hood Meadows and a standout guide on our American Cruise Line e-bike tours. Greg is always pushing himself—completing advanced PSIA certifications in freestyle and Level 3, along with being a certified Wilderness First Responder. He brings tours to life with engaging stories about the Historic Columbia River Highway, local geology, and native folklore, making every ride unforgettable.

Clara Pfundt

E-bike & Kayak Tour Guide

Clara joins us from Bellingham, Washington, where she earned her degree in Geology from Western Washington University. She brings a deep passion for earth science and loves sharing how the Columbia River Gorge was formed and shaped over time. Clara has been instrumental in growing our team’s geological knowledge, and her Columbia Gorge geology e-bike tour is a guest favorite—don’t miss it if you get the chance. When she’s not guiding, you’ll find her kitesurfing on the river or snowboarding in the winter as an instructor at Mt. Hood Meadows.
